Aside from all the usual points that everyone else has already made: automation. Scripting stuff on Linux is relatively simple, trying to fuck about with powershell or work around a tool that’s GUI-only is infuriating.
Oh weird, I assume this is just because the white is relatively red compared to the cyan, right? As in if you took any image and coloured it in the same way then it would also look red.

Not everyone has the same hearing range (it tends to get worse as you get older, hence those ultrasonic teenager repellers that people claim are for cats). If a device is running at the very low end of what we consider ultrasound and OP can hear higher than most then maybe they can hear the sensors. I would be surprised if an ultrasonic sensor was running this low though.
