Thanks, I may try it sometime. I have a Neon installation in one of my partitions already.
Have you checked the official website of WhatsApp? You can only restore local backups if you are on older Android versions. On newer Androids it is only Google backup.
https://faq.whatsapp.com/6181521285295518/?helpref=hc_fnav&cms_platform=android Nowhere will you find reference to local backup other than this. And my experience confirms it.
You might have succeeded because you and I might have been part of A/B testing but this is going to be the future.
No it does not do it now. Only option is cloud restore. I have done it last week.
How did you use it? They no longer allow restoring from local backup AFAIK?
They no longer allow local backup.
The best story of beginning with Linux I have heard so far!
Is ~/config only for KDE or does any other application use it to save configuration files?
I am still on KDE 5 with PCLinuxOS.
Then what does it actually use? Is there a way to help the person asking the question?
In the /home directory, there should be a hidden directory called .kde which mostly contains KDE settings for your user. Rename it and check. A new one might get created with default settings during next login.
Caution: I am no expert and consider all backup options before doing this because it may force you to re-install.
Make sure that you are seeding random blocks instead of serial. That way peers who have a different block will exchange among themselves rather than waiting for you to provide each and every piece.
OOL What is this One Piece?
When did they remove local backups? Or is it removed for someone who has opted for Google Drive backup?
I never chose cloud option, so I have my local backup. Android by the way.
Did not help. Tried that.
I was a Boost for Reddit user who made do with LiftOff for the time being. What ever happened to LiftOff - there are no releases in a long while now.
I sincerely hoped Jolla would at least continue to make one technology demonstrator hardware model available for purchase by enthusiasts. The current situation where I have to buy a phone and then buy OS separately is not feasible for me.
Oh, I had forgotten about that one.
