rule 1? rule 2? fuck if I know what I said that broke those rules, here’s a ban that you don’t even get notified about. i probably said fuck too many times. that’s “not respectful”.
The lack of notification Lemmy provides on mod actions is rather annoying. The worst part is that the mod log federates, so it totally could provide you with a notification, but none of the clients seem to do it.
I mean server admins and mods are free to moderate their communities as they feel like, but the lack of feedback towards the banned person/author of a removed comment is quite a pain.
That’s the Reddit way.
Shadowbanning you without any notification so you’re unaware as long as possible.
If you make someone aware of being shadowbanned, shadowbanning doesn’t work. It’s a great tool against spammers and generally abusive people, but it sure has its troubles when overused.
