New update on the SteamOS beta channel, lets OLED users control the brightness of the charging led. Also includes a fix for WiFi failing to connect and an issue with HDR through some display port connections becoming desaturated.

    it just said for the OLED version. Does it not apply to the LCD version? I am trying to find it, but I’m having no luck.

      The OLED has an upgraded led that can do different colors and brightnesses. I don’t know if the mono-color LCD led can change brightness, but I imagine it can’t.

        Ahhh I see. I didn’t know that. I think I was just hoping for a solution to dim the normal white charging indicator.

          This is a problem with a ton of electronics nowadays, and unfortunately the general solution is pretty low tech – just tape over it or they sell specialized stickers for this too.

      I think the LED brightness control is OLED only per the document. But I could be wrong.

        oh I getcha. another comment told me the LED can change colors on the OLED so I was confused.

    Oh nice, I think I was seeing the WiFi failing to connect bug on my devices. It was an easy enough solution when it happened, but the stability will be nice.
