I do trash picking and a significant amount of the trash I pick up is related to disposable vapes. It’s not just the vapes themselves but also the boxes and the plastic film the vapes are wrapped in.
Vapes often end up being broken up either from being run over by cars or being stood on. There’s plenty of times I’ve been picking up loose wires, boards and batteries which makes me a bit nervous, honestly.
It is a lot easier for me to pick up improperly disposed vapes during my trash picks than cigarette butts, though…

Any place that sells a disposable lithium battery should be required to accept them back for recycling.
