    I get the feeling that they don’t literally mean dogs and instead are just calling trans people dogs. That’s my take, but the other interpretation is funnier

      Maybe in this battalion, everybody’s fursona is a dog, and NATO also have fox/cheetah/badger battalions and such

        An older phonetic alphabet uses “dog” instead of “delta” plus there’s “foxtrot” which survived to be part of the one we typically use now. Could reserve those for the furious fighting furries.
