I remember when my city was doing single stream recycling and thinking “there is no way anyone is sorting this shit, it is totally going into the dump.” And that is from simmering who used to ride the back of a recycling truck and emptying sorted bins into compartments on the truck.
hot take but:
even though that plastic isn’t usually recycled, it’s still good that it’s sorted from other garbage, as future smart-asses will be able to figure out a good use for it…
