Russia’s Foreign Ministry said that Moscow would "consider with attention" the appeal of authorities from the Moscow-controlled Moldovan region of Transnistria for "protection," the Russian state-controlled media RBC wrote on Feb. 28.
It’s not “another few thousands”. Moldova isn’t Ukraine. Moldova basically has no army or gear. They cannot defend themselves and they have no allies to defend them either because of their neutrality clause.
You make it sound so easy but such a nice means moving Russian through Ukraine (= from Ukraine) which will weaken positions in Ukraine where there is a raging war already …
With every fighting soldier, like fx infantry, there are between 2-10 in support, depending if you just count logistics / med or include artillery and similar.
So your 1500 would mean around 500 with long term fighting capability.
Yeah… I think you need to move in some more troops if you expect shit to hit the fan.
Do you want to move those troops through Ukraine or from the sea, right next to Ukraine?
Heard anything special regarding Russian troop transport ships near Ukraine lately?
That might be so, but it’s not like Russia is losing anytime soon in Ukraine either. And we’re still talking about Moldova here. They have fuck all for an army or gear. Their military is literally a joke and they do not have the same support as Ukraine because of their neutrality. The few Russian troops there could likely very easily make a rush for it and force a surrender.

What? “Transnistria” is right next to Moldova. Those troops do not have to move through Ukraine at all.
How many troops do you actually think Russia have stationed in Transnistria?
No one knows. The most recent estimate I could find was 1000-1500 + gear.

Against a country with virtually no army.
Yeah, but we are talking about 500 of the army that has shown unprecedented incompetence the last two years.
