Well, he could have surrendered but such is the strength of Russian propaganda.
It’s not that easy, they would be shot by backing forces, or used in a prisoner exchange, then again at the mercy of the military they escaped.
I mean, if you’re already injured and awaiting an fpv drone, this is a solid idea. No suffering. Who knows if the drone will kill or maim?
