We subsidize all the wrong things. A McDouble is out of reach or most for a casual meal without subsidies, and arguably it should be out of reach so plant based alternatives have a chance at competing. Same with oil. Should gradually roll back the subsidies so people can have time to switch, but they should still be rolled back.
I’m 6’2", wouldn’t refer to it as a casual snack. When I hear casual snack, I’m thinking like an orange or a protein bar or something, not a whole-ass burger. Yeah, it’s not massive, but not a small snack either

A mcdouble is about 165

A mcdouble is about 400 calories. Whereas a 150g orange is about 75.
