I basically just rephrased the old saying “you need to break some eggs to make omelettes” like bro it’s not fucking controversial that burning wood destroys the wood. Yeah the atoms continue to exist and become other things like smoke and ash but the thing they made up that was called “wood” no longer exists and won’t be coming back. You can’t mine ore out of the earth and refine it into finished metal products without irreversibly changing it and transforming it from a state we’d call “stone” to a state we’d call “tractor” or whatever the fuck.
