I think people ought to be to have enough intelligence to know that a statement like that can be true and at the same time, one party acts nakedly, unashamedly that way, and the other doesn’t.

The fact that Trump won probably proves I’m an idiot for thinking people don’t have to be nuanceless morons. But the fact remains that we remain entirely fucked because people can’t tell the difference in dogshit and dirt. Comments like the ones above help reinforce the idiocracy.

“Both parties…” followed by anything is almost always unhelpful and destructive but sure go ahead and defend that shit.

From where I sit the Democratic party was so afraid of an actual changecandidate that they neglected to have a primary and foisted a milquetoast pro-LE candidate that didn’t do anything to reach their base and instead tried to court it’s opponents supporters. So, maybe they’re actually worse than Republicans, at least an R will tell you they hate you and want to take your rights.

An openly fascist rapist beat them, if that isn’t an indictment of them I don’t know what is.

The Democratic party lost, it’s now OK to point at them and say “what a bunch of out of touch rich fucks” and throw them to the wolves, they do not represent us and in that way, are exactly the same as the other side.

“their strategy is shitty, so they’re actually worse than people who are actively working to end democracy”

“They saw how dangerous the people actively working against democracy were and were *still unable to form a coherent argument against it or court the millions of people who were afraid of it.”

I’m not sure evil through incompetence is any different than willful evil. One smiles while they patronize you, the other doesnt.

Great point. Which is why we execute people who cause accidental deaths /s

              Also

unable to form a coherent argument against it or court the millions of people who were afraid of it

Yeah, they really should’ve begged the people who care so much to show it by checks notes bothering to vote.

                bothering to vote

Ah yes the absolute lowest bar for civic participation and they still couldn’t reach it meanwhile Republicans are winning schoolboards across the country.

I’m actually coming around to your side though, both sides aren’t the same, one of them is good at politics.

Lol you realize you’re proving my point? You think it’s a sign that the politicians did something wrong that people literally can’t be bothered to stop obvious and imminent fascism. Funnier still, you claimed they cared but not voting wasn’t something they could blamed for.

Of course voters should be expected to not care – it’s the Democrats job to make them — about the fire spreading in their homes. /s

You don’t? You think politicians did their jobs? I think they’ve been asleep at the wheel for the last 4-5 decades.

Funnier still, you claimed they cared but not voting wasn’t something they could blamed for.

I never said they cared, the opposite in fact.
