Right now, due to how long I have been there, I am paying less for a 3 bedroom apt than one would for a 1 bed or bachelor

Rental, we have “some” protections for long term renters (note my instance :) ) like limited increases each year. I have only signed a lease to move in, after the year (normal) or 2 (we negotiated for 2 years to cut even more off the rent in my 20s it was a 3 bedroom garden home for less than 2 bed apts at the time) it goes month to month (still need notice to leave on good terms) with a yearly increase, limited to a max unless there is a good reason, then they go to the landlord tenant board (or was it the Rental Tribunal) and show why they need to increase it more than the allowed limit.

It is. You will not find a place like mine now for 1475 CDN, even in the suburbs. I am scared to ask the other tenants what they pay.
