Exactly what about this post is a half truth/lie/false information/etc?

Or are you using the more lax definition which means anything that attempts to effect public opinion?

I’m 45. :,) You really have to do sports regularly, better daily at that point. If I don’t do some sports for a week I immediately feel horrible.

I’m under 30, and I feel like that when I don’t go to the gym for a few days. That’s probably not specifically an aging thing.

Tell me about it. Started resistance training to strengthen the shoulders, they started feeling weak, then the knees started to act up, stopped skipping leg days. 47 is a bummer physically (for the rest: I’m still 25 in my own head).

Presidents normally age badly during their presidency due to stress. Look at George Bush in 2000 and compare him to 2008. He looks like hell, ditto Obama.

Trump has barely any noticeable stuff happen. Whatever happened would have happened regardless to him just being 10 years older when he started campaigning in 2015. He thrives on the hate he receives.

Ehh fat people need to stop trying to hone in on the moral high ground of race, sexuality, and disability and just accept they are fat fucks because they eat like pigs and don’t deserve special treatment. If you don’t like it put down the hoho and eat some fucking kale.

It’s not that easy for everyone. People’s metabolism works in different ways and genetics is also a huge factor. I have a friend who eats roughly the same as me and regularly goes to the gym while I don’t, and still weighs like 40kg more.

Plus, even when metabolism isn’t the issue, a lot of those people have eating disorders and shaming them for that isn’t cool.

Telling people with eating disorders that everything’s fine is even worse. Also, if your friend eats properly and works out they’re not fat, they’re heavy, noone is making fun of those. They might not let you into the club tomorrow.

The choices are not just “telling them that everything is fine” and straight-up body shaming. You can point out to someone that they have a problem without saying that they’re a “fat fuck”.

And about my friend, I’ve definitely heard people call him fat, or others be surprised when he says he goes to the gym. He’s not the ripped/bodyguard type, and that’s enough for “assumptions” apparently.

Is it so hard to just not make fun of people for their physical appearance? Like, if they deserve it there’s probably already something else about their personality to make fun of.

Like, if they deserve it there’s probably already something else about their personality to make fun of.

Which is why in the specific case that spurred this argument, Trump being called “a fat fuck”, the “fat” part is a mere qualifier for “fuck”, not the defining characteristic. Noone called him “a fattie”, or similar kindergarten-level insults. “Rich fuck” would also have been a possibility, but then consider context: We’re in a thread about “an immense weight on a great man”. The name of that weight? Among others, Donald Trump. You can’t not qualify “fuck” with “fat” in that context given Trump’s overall geometry.

And still, somehow, people managed to turn it into a discussion about body shaming. Five minute hate is over, comrade, you’ve had your daily dose of pointlessly imagining offence, move on, there’s grass to be touched.

Weight is one of those things that most people can largely change about themselves. I agree it’s a lot harder to regulate your weight when you have conditions that reduce your mobility and make you burn far fewer calories like ME/CFS or fibromyalgia, but the basic principles of thermodynamics still apply.

Trump isn’t one of those people with a debilitating condition other than his age. He’s genuinely an unpleasant glutton who lives on a diet of Big Macs and Diet Coke.

Trump would be carrying the weight of the US and the free world, too.

But he rejected the mantle, he didn’t pick it up. He just pokes it sometimes, and points at it and talks about it as something in his possession.

He wasn’t always like this, he was a normal person, a good comediant, but when great and heavy responsibilities come, you change with the times, and for this man, times have been hell. I don’t want to be him, knowingly sending my troops and young people to die because of a (insert a bad word for Putin).

I bet many people, professional politicians, people with no principles that care only about money, would’ve run away leaving their country to suffer. This man had the strength to change and demand help for his own people, that makes him great honour.

Once the government here in the US ends up in Jail, we’ll build a monument to Zelensky. The title might be something like “never forget to not be the nazi.” Or “never elect another trump/republican.”
