Google is adjusting how Android is made, with the AOSP branch moving behind closed doors, leaving the entire OS to be privately developed.

OK, what is the better metric? I’m not trying to gotcha really, but I use tap and pay and my banking apps very incredibly often and would not consider a phone where I couldn’t, and suspect that it is a significant driving factor for others as well.

      what is the better metric?

      To quote myself 😋

The only percentage that makes sense is that of total LineageOS users

I’ve used Lineage, and Cyanogen before it, it worked fine for me. Doesn’t work out for you, and that’s ok, because you have options.

It’s pretty trivial to just keep your card in your pocket and use the bank’s website though

My bank requires either the mobile app, or a physical device you have to put your card into and scan a qr code with. Very inconvenient, especially on the go.

Fortunately though my bank’s mobile app works on GrapheneOS, but that might not be the case for everyone.
