I know a few things could be pennies more expensive on the items in store. They often lack deals found on Native apps.
it’s usually cheaper to buy on doordash here than from the restaurants own app. I did get 3 years free DoorDash plus or what ever from Amazon Prime though, I likely won’t renew the subscription.
The only rip off is suggesting a 5 dollar tip on a 20 dollar order. Always tip $0.
The problem is that apps like Doordash also increase the price of each item individually. So if you order from the restaurant itself, the sandwich might be $10 and fries might be $3. But if you order from Doordash, the sandwich will be $12 and the fries will be $4, then they have delivery fees, AND have all of these other extra mystery fees and then paying the delivery driver on top of that.
Technically, the delivery fee is usually $0-5, but that’s not why it’s so expensive.
As I said, there are hidden fees too, not just service and delivery fees. Each menu item will have a hidden increased cost. I noticed this once when I compared the line items to a bill I had in the restaurant versus my Doordash bill. They increased the price of every single item on the menu and the app doesn’t tell you that they do this. Does this not happen in your country? I’d encourage you to do a test and check by looking at the prices of each item in the app versus going to the restaurant and seeing what their prices are.
Our delivery and service fees will also fluctuate depending on the date and time of day. It is not a constant number and will increase during dinner time and etc.
As I have already said, SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY, there is no price difference between items on Door Dash and instore/restaurant except for the Loblaws grocery store.
These prices are set by the buisness and not Door Dash so your locale may differ but it’s not an issue with Door Dash but the individual vendors.
Another local pizza place is on Door Dash and it is ~1 dollar cheaper per item and free delivery, however you cannot choose your own toppings from thier Door Dash store.
Subway is on there. The prices for everything I get are the same price. Double meat is $4.00 on both apps, extra cheese is $2.00 on both apps.
McDonalds has the same price on their app and on Door Dash for everything I regularly order. Door Dash offers free delivery and has smaller fees.
Jesus, dude. Don’t blow a fucking gasket. For hundreds of millions of DorrDash customers, this isn’t the way it works. For the vast majority of people, the price of every individual item is increased before they even add in the fees. For example, the combo meal for a burger at my local McDonalds is $10.49 in the McDonald’s app, but $12.43 in the DoorDash app BEFORE you add any of the non-hidden fees.
I’m glad that DoorDash is cheaper for you, but it doesn’t work that way for 99% of their customer base. You are an unusual exception.
Over charge how?

Bruh you’re fuckin trolling
No.
The prices for Pizza Delight are the same on thier app and on Door Dash.
Pizza Delight has a 7.99 delivery fee here.
Door Dash has no delivery fee but a Service charge of 2.5%.
Door dash is the clear winner.
The only place I seen with larger mark ups on in store items is Loblaws. That’s what the frequent 50% and 25% coupons are for though.
You’re just a troll lying online to defend an extremely exploitative company

Cope
Cope with what? You okay, buddy?
Cope.
You seem to be coping pretty hard yourself there, sweetie. Do you need a hug?
I never turn down a hug, you offering?
What the hell kind of bizarre place do you live in?
Newfoundland where restaurants want to charge a 7 dollar delivery fee for a 5 minute drive.
They do that elsewhere as well.

Door Dash here has free deliver over 15 bucks at all places but one. The service fee isn’t mystery. It’s 2.5%.
Like I said above. Only one local near me have different prices on Door Dash and in store. FYI the restaurants/stores set those prices.
Technically, the delivery fee is usually $0-5, but that’s not why it’s so expensive.
