For me the shape of water was the worst film I’ve ever seen because the whole story was just so weird and ridiculous… An alien and a woman getting together.
The worst part about it is that critics at the time were praising the film…

I can’t remember which title, but one of the Marvel movies where there’s a fight in some snowy mountainous terrain. IIRC as soon as Iron Man makes one of his “clever” remarks, that was game over and I had to turn it off.
Similar issue with The Expendables 2 - Arnold said “I’ll be back” and I was out.
I think the smug protagonist remarks are extremely cringe for some reason I can’t really explain further.
That would be Age of Ultron, also home to the wonderfully awful scene where black widow tells Bruce banner that she’s a monster too because she can’t reproduce 😬
Never change, Joss.
Actually scratch that, please, please change.
The Expandables is a bit different, since it’s not inherently smug, but a reference. I don’t remember the film, but it could be done very well, if he said it perfectly normal in a completely mundane situation and just once.
