Using the Yuzu case for guidance, dumping encryption keys, regardless of the source of those keys, is illegal
This is false, as the case is non existant, because it has been settled out of court. It has to be proven in court that is illegal, as there’s no law that says that dumping the keys from my own hardware that i paid with my own money is illegal.
thanks, i added you to my blocked list
At $12/terabyte/month it seems pretty expensive for media collection (I mean: family photos are irreplaceable but generic video?)
Other options are to use “glacier” tier S3 which is cheap to rent but ultra expensive to recover (but hopefully you won’t need that)
Or just put a pi+HDD hidden somewhere at work/parents and copy to that
The problem is that otherwise the ai companies would just pirate the stuff and use it anyway
Take the pocket change is better than nothing
Hall said the trial was unfair and continued to insist the bombing didn’t happen as he left the court.
Nice try, openai bot (/s)
Google enforces rules only against small devs. Big companies are allowed to do what the fuck they want.
Example with one of those “ad viewing apps disguised as games”, every single screenshot is misleading, showing a different game to what actually will be downloaded. It’s clearly a violation of Google Play terms that read:
Screenshots must demonstrate the actual in-app or in-game experience, focusing on the core features and content so users can anticipate what the app or game experience will be like. Use captured footage of the app or game itself.
In the example not a single screenshot demonstrate the actual game experience.
Google sees the big cash influx from ad impressions and IAP from whales and is closing all the eyes
Tencent and Alibaba instead are still allowed to illegally fingerprint and track the user by placing tracking data in /Pictures/.gs_fs0 which for some reason they can access even without storage/photo permission
I saw a bank in my country requiring to have the permission for apps usage, the one that you have to go in settings and toggle it. Refuse and it closes the app
I don’t know a single bank that hasn’t reinvented the wheel and is using their app as a glorified authentication app for generating totp codes
And then i complained that my bank blocked access if adb was enabled…
If there’s no loan attached to that account, for me this message reads “sorry, we don’t want you as a customer. Please contact a bank teller to have a full refund, uninstall this app and don’t forget to leave a 1 star review”
I’m not willing to compromise on this shit. My phone is my phone.
main issue is that i purchased the pro, and there’s only the free over there… wait! I can take the apk from the old phone before I wipe it! OMG why i didn’t thought of that, i’m dumb. (no sarcasm, I actually forgot to take the apk from the old phone and i was about to wipe it! Thank you for mentioning that!)
edit: fuck… on android 15 the app crashes when going in background… so it’s the dev that intentionally delisted for everyone as low sales = patch not worth the time 😢
I can’t believe everyone knows such an obscure reference
Raid wasn’t designed for data safety but to minimize downtime. Just swap the drive an continue operating the server seamlessly. Full backups are still required as the chance of complete failure isn’t zero
Oops, misread the date, I read Published 11/01/2024 and in my locale it means January 😅
This review is almost one year old.
Also, wonderful hardware but android 12 in 2024 for 700 euro?
Moreover, can run only a generic browser and some showelvare. Most apps in the Huawei appgallery are broken and aren’t getting updates from 3-4 years. (I know because I have a Huawei p30)
Bootloader can’t be unlocked so you’re stuck with a useless outdated os that can’t run most apps
Maybe I’d get one for €100 as a smart home display or for light internet browsing…
At least that app was foss so the source and build is still available on GitHub
Probably the dev was annoyed of the forced change for scoped storage which for a syncing app is almost a complete rewrite
the dev has no online presence, but they updated the app one year ago to add android 13 support
it seems the whole dev profile is gone, maybe they felt the new google verification was a hassle
With the guy that’s going to be defense secretary saying “I don’t see germs, so they aren’t real” maybe it could be the opposite.
I don’t also see ionizing radiations, so they definitely aren’t real, maybe let him taste some polonium tea
Also the irony of a Christian fundamentalist saying that because something can’t be seen, then it can’t be real
