  • I’d be careful with this example. One of the key issues people take with the UN that they indeed can’t enforce things, like in Gaza. Security council approved a ceasefire, but the fighting goes on. Russia doing genocide in Ukraine, UN tells RU that they need to stop being bad.

For the record they of course do stuff, but if you’d like to advocate for anarchism I’d use a more effective example. If even the UN can’t stand up to fascism, what shot does an anarchy have, ya know?

  • I think we’re quite a long way off from “too much power on the grid”, no? Even in America we regularly over-strain our grids. My power provider has even started discouraging folks from using their power as much, and charging more, because they simply decided not to do this work of increasing the amount generated. Like my bill has never once gone down, this paying people to use power concept is completely unheard of in practice.

That said I’m willing to be wrong. If you can show me evidence we have “too much power” I’d be happy to take that to my elected officials, insist I should get paid to heat up my noodles or whatever.

Look I understand where you’re coming from, and I kinda agree with you. Also speaking as a white male, though, we would rightly declare someone like Candace Owens an internalized racist if she said the same the thing that you just did but about black people. I don’t think it’s fair to raise your arms and say “Well yeah some of the people in my group are problematic, so it’s okay if we behave inappropriately toward the entire group. I personally don’t feel oppressed so why are you mad?”

Like that’s pretty silly right? I’m afraid that the divide in political ideology between young men/women is due to years of white-men-bad rhetoric, pushing these young boys to Tate and Fresh n Fit, and it’s having the opposite effect that we want. We’re no longer educating at a certain point, we’re just shaming.
