Yeah, I just installed and paid for AdGuard pro, which blocks ads on safari. Doesn’t do anything for any Google app that I install but reading news sites is much better since I did it.

I used to push android over iOS until a few years ago when Google became just as bad as Apple, if not worse. I’ve been trying to steadily get rid of Google products that they’re probably just going to either stop supporting or discontinue altogether, or gradually reduce features that I use every day. I switched over to an iPhone because it offers better privacy and allows for ad blockers without having to root your phone. I don’t have any desire to go back even though I still think the android interface makes more sense for me. I also don’t care what color someone’s bubble is.

The worst for me is the motorcycles one; half of the pictures are of motor scooters. Does it count those as motorcycles or is it counting on the user to know the difference because they’re not technically the same thing?

Yeah, once my current versa 3 inevitably breaks, I’m jumping ship. I’m most likely going to Garmin, since other choices are kinda limited and don’t want to charge my watch every day. I feel like the sleep tracking has never worked well for me on Fitbit. I don’t know if it’s a function of having a low heart rate or it just doesn’t work well, but there are nights that I’ve gotten terrible sleep or not slept at all and it thinks I slept for 6+ hours because I just laid there.

I don’t think any Fitbit I’ve ever owned has lasted more than a year. The good thing about the company is that they have a pretty good warranty program and as a result, I haven’t paid out of pocket for a new device in over three years.

I’d argue that all phone innovation has been pretty stagnant or even regressive lately. I think the only feature that’s been released by anyone lately that I’ve wanted my phone to have has been the magnet on the back to make mounts and wireless chargers less complicated. How it took these companies that long to put a magnet back there is beyond me. Then Apple “innovated” by removing the headphone jack so they could make more money selling wireless headphones after they bought Beats and for who knows what reason, all of the android phone makers eventually followed. I can see the use of a foldable screen, but I’m not buying one until it doesn’t add a permanent crease down the middle of my unfolded screen. If someone releases a privacy focused phone that’s not tied to Google with four years of guaranteed, timely updates, has a big enough screen with no notch, headphone jack, and magnet on the back they can have my money.

Yeah, I’ve been 260 before and was not as big as him. Also, it says Giuliani is 5’11” and 230 and I don’t think he looks as heavy as trump does.

He is absolutely not 215; I’m 6’3” and when I was 215 a few years ago was pretty thin.

This is what I thought it sounded like too. I’ve seen similar behavior with wake on lan before.

Calvin and Hobbes is great and I think that’s what I normally looked at second, but when you look back at them, are they funny?
I think compared to the other comics in the newspaper both The Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes were much more humorous than the likes of Peanuts, Garfield, Dennis the Menace and especially Heathcliff (check some of those out if you get a chance, half of them are just people verbalizing what Heathcliff is doing). So maybe it’s somewhat relative.

Are there any other single pane comics that you do find funny, or many comic strips of the 80s and 90s in general? Looking back at comics of that time, I don’t think many of them were the least bit funny and the humor from The Far Side doesn’t hit me like it used to, but when I was younger it was always the first thing I turned to when my parents got a paper. It stood out for a number of reasons; it’s concise, it’s absurd, the humor usually had a deeper meaning and it’s silly all at the same time. The other comic strips, when they were funny, had a setup and punchline, but The Far Side usually had to get by without a standard joke format. So I still think it’s funnier than every other comic of the time, but there are others nowadays that I find funnier.
