  • talking about LGBT rights then waving Azov battalion flag is as bad as BJP doing namesake caste affirmative movements. Most identity politics of bahujans falls into this category. Most leftist bahujans who talk about Ambedkar and so on , don’t want to admit that Ambedkar himself was a anti communist and he has nothing to do with India’s left politics. Even within the lower caste people or dalits they have inter caste issues and this caste problem cannot go away by mere admitting dalits into politburo and your point that is the biggest flaw of CPIM. There are liberals who talks about why CPIM doesn’t have more females if it represents equality among sexes. These are bourgeois talking points and btw you are only repeating those talking points here by slandering CPIM who fought against casteism for decades and also for tribal rights . What did ambedkarites achieve for the whole population ?

  • You are confusing sole identity politics with Marxism . Recently a tribal leader of CPIM was murdered , did anyone of the so called bahujans send condolences to CPIM and protest against this murder ? No. CPIM necessarily doesn’t have to fill up their ranks with OBC’s/Dalits because CPIM itself doesn’t work on espousing casteism like BJP , BJP has elected a tribal leader for president does that change the character of India itself . No . CPIM’s top leadership comes from genuine class struggle and intense training and it doesn’t have to do with specific identity. Sorry we won’t elect people like Kavita krishnan in our party ranks who calls herself a Marxist then adores Timothy Snyder for being “anti stalin” and then supports Azov battalion to “free” Ukraine .

  • Ever since Catherine the Great conquered Crimea in 1783 and established Sevastopol as its principal naval base, Crimea has been key to Russian military strategy. It was transferred to Ukraine in 1954 when it was part of the USSR. Then, when the USSR was dissolved in 1991, Ukraine kept Crimea.

This was unforgivable for Putin, who has long wanted to restore the USSR. In March 2014, Russia annexed Crimea and declared Sevastopol a federal city. Approximately 800,000 Russians have moved into Crimea since then. Facing constant bombardments from Ukraine from just across a narrow border, would make life unbearable for them, and for Putin.

lol … Yeah what kind of fuckery is this ? 800K Russians moved into Crimea where water supply was short ?

  • I will say the opposition alliance is full of holes and consist of lots of opportunists , they can switch between Congis and BJP when time is favorable . Left front has become weak af post 2008, its difficult for Indians to choose a coherent party with some ideals . Congress also won’t ban the extremists like Bajrang Dal and VHP affiliated terrorist fronts and they will pursue the neoliberal policies of BJP .

  • but they made a major mistake , China was not very close to Russia and it was after Trump anti china policies and hardline hawks Xi kinda went to Putin’s side. Putin was also not very keen to make enemy out of US but it was the Ukraine issue which displeased him and his cohorts in the government. I remember clearly that it was the LDPR and KPRF who were very vocal about NATO intrusion in Ukraine but Putin was nonchalant about it. I will say Nixon and Kissinger were better in geopolitics , atleast they understood that Russia and China shouldn’t come together to kick their ass. Even now China can kick Russia’s butt if US normalizes relations with China but I think the hawks and incompetency in congress is very high.

  • You are not wrong that North was wealthier historically but colonialism , casteism and religious sentiments ruined the North. Congress also had bad policies in the past. Though I won’t say North is like Africa but they lack affirmative policies towards downtrodden and lower caste people and they lack visionary leaders overall. Nowadays Hindutva has engulfed the whole North it will take many years to undo the Nazi mindset.

  • Its actually the opposite in India , Southern states are wealthier , healthier in terms of GDP/capita and HDI respectively . Kerala has been ruled alternatively by Congis and CPIM , they have superb heath care system while Tamil Nadu has Dravidian politics which is against casteism , religious extremism . Karnataka and Andhra had similar policies but their politics is language driven and not about Hindutva . If you look to the Northern states , UP and Bihar are the worst , they had decades of caste based politics and poverty , the birth rate of these states is higher than the South because of religious sentiments , Hindutva and extreme unemployment. During Covid I think most people died in UP and in the northern states instead of the South. Maharashtra being one of the largest state is an unique case , while Mumbai has higher GDP than most of Indian states , the inequality is very much high and eastern parts of Maha. still lives in relative poverty w.r.t west where we have Pune , Nashik , Mumbai and all other industrial belts.
