Signaling in the railway is how they know what trains are where and when. There are a few different types of signaling system, but destroying any part of it will bring everything to a halt until the problem is fixed.
If a signaling system were to be destroyed or disabled no one would need to physically stay there blocking trains only to be arrested.
Good on them. For anyone considering the same: destroy the signaling systems.
Posting an article with sources and saying that this sort of thing is happening is not Russian propaganda. I and my family stand with Ukraine, your straw man argument is ridiculous and inflammatory.
These things happen in war, every day. Refusing to look at them, picking and choosing your facts to suit your opinions, and accusing others of being Russian propagandists is not a good look.
I appreciate that we all want peace and victory in Ukraine, and that any voice pointing out their flaws draws immediate downvotes.

There was more than one incident reported in the article, and more than one soldier spoke to the reporters and provided proof. I don’t think it’s widespread, but pretending it doesn’t happen instead of facing it and creating policies and procedures to handle it gives legitimacy to the enemies’ claims.
Unfortunately there are credible reports of exactly this happening by soldiers from other countries fighting in Ukraine. Doesn’t mean it’s widespread, but it is happening.

This is why many of our packages weren’t delivered. We have a low front gate with a latch, and we have had many parcels taken to the post office without a delivery attempt.
After calling aupost for the umpteenth time, they have told me that their drivers have been instructed to not enter any sort of gate because of dog attacks, unless they know the house and that there is not a dog.
The second line of our address for everything now says “NO DOGS! Thank you!” and since doing that no problems.

I have a teenage daughter, she is a typical nerdy red headed girl into reading and such, so unlikely to be profiled for a search, but shit happens.
She also has Autism, and doesn’t do super well with new situations under pressure. Usually we need to talk about what will happen and what we are likely to do beforehand and she’s fine.
Can she refuse to be searched by police? Can she ask to be taken to the station to be searched by a female officer? What happens if she says no to them searching her bag or pockets?

Huh, this interesting video about these “hot models” was posted earlier around lemmy.
(Very basic) Tldr; The hot models are excluded because they do not match historical data, because we don’t have historical data on clouds and these models are based on properties of clouds. However some scientists recently compared these models to current clouds to see if they could accurately predict changes in weather, and they could. Suggesting that the models may be closer to accurate than previously believed.
Why is Australia being hit by them? I thought this was just an Australian thing… A few years ago Metformin - a diabetes drug with many generic brands was in low supply. Two years ago my birth control (the only norethisterone only pill in our market) was unavailable for 6 months out of the blue. Starting around September last year the medicated eye gel I need was unavailable, no other product in our market with those ingredients… it has only recently become available again last week. I bought 3 tubes.
To top all that off, late last year we find out that 50mg vyvanse - an adhd med my daughter and I are both on - is unavailable and won’t be available til maybe the end of the January. Of course 50mg is the most common dose and our psychiatrist was away for the holidays, leading to a mad scramble for our GP to request emergency permission to prescribe and the psych to pause his holidays to write letters authorizing prescribing to dozens of GPs for his patients. We now have had to pay twice as much and drive to neighbouring towns and sometimes multiple pharmacies, to get 20mg and 30 mg.
I am using vger right now, in firefox. I also use the web app without a download on my phone, as does my husband. Voyager is amazing.
