As someone who has done no programming since taking C++ in high school more than 20 years ago, what do you mean by safer language?
I look forward to the lawsuits that will ultimately cost this man his job.
I really need to try to learn Resolve. There just seems to be so much effort required to make a good NLE and such a relatively small market that it’s just not conducive to a robust FOSS project.
Can the Stream Deck be used with other VR systems? I’d just assume not so I’d never looked at it for that.
Has Amazon Games released anything decent? I feel like I’ve heard they exist but not of anything well-regarded released by them. Like the only thing I can think of offhand was a tie-in game for The Grand Tour when they started streaming the show.
I really hope to get one of these at some point
Yeah, I’ve played plenty of Civilization over the years, but I’m married now. I have a kid. I keep a note with what I’m doing because it might be a couple months before I play again. I could play more, but I want to spend time with my wife and my kid. Usually when I take time to play I want to play again the next night, but that’s often not feasible, and then it turns into weeks again.
I may have in the past put lyrics from “Never Gonna You Up” or links to the music video on YouTube in QR codes I printed on blank business cards and left them in public places around town.
I’m leaning towards that, but they did announce in February of last year that the next Civ game was in development.
I’m still confused on what happened with OpenOffice. Is it not good now that it’s with Apache?
I’m 40 and just started medication for ADHD. When I was in school there were some kids diagnosed with it, but they were the kids bouncing off the wall. I was just told I was a daydreamer, lacked concentration, just needed to focus more because I had so much potential if I could do the work. Instead I just skated by as a B student largely on testing well, but not turning things in. That’s not to say you do or don’t have it, just don’t assume you don’t have it because no one ever mentioned it when you were young.
“Yousa enjoy Coca-Cola”
The cantina in Mos Eisley is now a Starbucks
“We’ll be very thoughtful about how to absolutely maximize our profits from this”
I mean, they’ve already been getting revenue from product placements in their sports games, many of which sell at or near AAA prices already.
The color people will tell you that cyan and magenta do not equal red and blue. My university advisor tricked me into taking a 400 level class from the college of art and design on color theory. Really interesting class but an insane amount of work. Very early on the professor told us to throw out any book that identified red, yellow, and blue as the primary colors. It’s red, green, blue for light or cyan, magenta, yellow for pigment.
I don’t even know what icon is on the right
We usually keep the family-friendly filter on when playing with our daughter and her friend (teenagers) but the answers can often get a little dirty. Out of curiosity we turned it off one time but it quickly went to a whole different level that none of us were comfortable with playing with each other, so we put the filter back on.
I suppose with the right group it could be fun, but you’d probably have to be real comfortable with your friends, and have enough friends you’re that comfortable with. Like, if it was just my wife and me we’d have fun, but that’s not enough players for most of those games.
Maybe GOG’s no DRM stance makes it unpopular with some developers
I remember a really smart, very nerdy family friend telling us about Linux around 1997/98 and this was the experience he described. It sounded interesting but also like a crazy amount of work.
