  • Won’t the market pretty well extend the minimum wage? Not to disagree with the premise, but in Germany, for example, the union represents about 1/3 of workers, and whatever the union is able to negotiate basically becomes standard for all workers. Why? Because people will gravitate to those jobs with a protected floor.

If in 6 months wages in other sectors don’t follow, then the workers will drain toward fast food and the other industries will have to be competitive.

But yes, I don’t see why the law is discriminating here. Just raise the whole minimum wage.

Good example. Obsidian is apparently 70% silica. Iron is apparently what makes it black in color. If it’s thin enough, it is translucent.

If you cool pure silica slowly enough, with impurities to cause seeding, you will get tons of crystals, not a single glass, that won’t be transparent.

No, I don’t think renting out your first home is a grave issue, but it’s a snow flake in the avalanche for why housing is unaffordable. Housing is either a necessity that should be affordable, or an investment that grows and grows in value. Society has to pick one. And it would be obviously ruinuos for the status quo of housing to outpace inflation to continue.
