Keep the rubber side down, also.
In the helicopter world is “keep the spinny bits up”
That’s what I’ve done for my last few phones. Aside from a battery issue that got replaced on a “recall” of sorts, my pixel 4XL has been running strong for years now. Haven’t bought a brand new phone for well over a decade now
Not with that attitude they’re not
What do you use in place of GApps? F-droid?
Also, what’s the flashing process like these days? Does it still wipe everything or is there a way to save all the personal stuff?
Well you have to get the install files moved over to the sandboxed PC somehow. If it is infected and you plug in the USB drive or whatever that goes back and forth, you could spread the virus through it.
Well I hope you reported them, as well
As in monitor, not tv, yea?
I bought my pixel 4xl at the end of 2019 used and it’s still going strong. There was an issue that affected the batteries that Google fixed under warranty, but other than that I see no reason for me to need to get a new phone for a couple more years. It’s plenty snappy and the camera is still good enough.
Oooorrr we could not do all that and let parents do their jobs. How about we empower them to learn how to setup parental controls on their routers and on the kids devices?
The IP thing backfires when you inevitably get assigned a new IP and the guy down the street now can’t look at his porn anymore because the website blocked the IP
You’re crazy.
This was my thought as well. They should be used in addition to, not as a replacement for, trees, bushes, and grass.
It does make me wonder, though, whether or not we could use these to help capture more carbon than we’re creating.
I’m not saying it’s right, but this is what happens when you’re sold a physical item compared to the license to view an item, which is what we’re now being sold. It’s bullshit, but to say what you did in your op is categorically incorrect.
Not accurate at all. If I buy a Blu-ray or a DVD that can’t be taken away from me… But if I “buy” a movie online (namely from a streaming service) my access to it can be removed at their discretion. It’s happened plenty before, and as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, is happening again on PlayStation.
Article about it for those interested… According to this it does not still contain malware, but it has been the target of multiple attacks through the years that has in turn compromised many PC’s. The attack mentioned in this article was suspected to be a state sponsored attack by China, not sure about the others.

It doesn’t matter if the average person will see it or not. What matters is that it can be seen, as shown and described by Medusa matters, at all. What part of that don’t you get?
And how did they game the system, exactly? By hitting refresh?
Probably, but I don’t think you can easily melt it down and sell the raw materials like you can with metals… Just a hunch
Can’t blame you, tbh… It’s been a shit show. Hopefully they figure it out, but they’ve been pretty tone deaf at every turn over the past few years so it’s likely that they’ll just try to ride this out until the community just kinda… forgets about it. Which is sad. One reason being that we shouldn’t be in this position to begin with… The other is that it shows that companies can literally just bend us all over and as long as they walk back the extreme behaviour a little bit, they’ll get away with it.
I’ve killed more than a few people with bigger pockets than normal and it just saddens me that people can actually support this nonsense.
