I know a guy that dug a 28 foot hole. The feds got involved but couldn’t find anything actually to charge him for since it was only 28ft deep. That hole is still there.
Once again the Russians are keeping their secrets…
At least they provided this tidbit:
Engineers also discovered, as they plowed past the first 14,800 feet (4,511 meters), that the rock had much more porosity and permeability. That, paired with the extremely high temperatures, made the rock behave more like a plastic than a solid, rendering drilling virtually impossible.

Forget Sandy Loam. I want to know more about this “silly clay.”
Oh it’s the perfect substrate for growing laughing grass.
I keep a little dirt under my pillow after digging 35 feet down.
Hey hey people… (If you know you know)
Shitpost? Jokes on you I found this useful.
As a soil scientist, and a mod of !soilscience@slrpnk.net I respectfully reply to this meme with my own:
You’re lucky I don’t know where you live, or I would fly to your house, and lecture you.
While I love this meme, I’m also unbelievably fucking triggered.
Fucking fighting words right there.
My reaction:
I hope you’re happy, knowing you irritated the living shit out of some nerd on the internet.
I would be
Yeah? Then who’s Sandy Loam?
What does this reference?
Just had to learn this shit. You guys are weird…
I know, right? I bloody love this site and its weirdos
(I realise you may not find such weirdness endearing as I do. This comment is partly a self directed joke because whilst I don’t have Opinions on soil like the person you replied to, I live for that niche nerd internet shit (which is one of the things that makes me weird too)
me too, me too :)
