  • The difference is you can still get those degrees if you want to.

If you come from a family of means you can, and no one will bat an eye.

If you get those degrees on student loans because it’s your passion, you wind up in massive debt and poverty, usually with capitalism defenders (and the owner’s for profit media) running to point and yell that you deserve it for not picking a passion that will maximize your utility at providing capital value to the owners.

Self-actualization for nepo babies all day. Preparation to be one of those nepo baby’s batteries for the rest.

  • We’re destroying our own habitat, not to mention the habitat of other life that isn’t actively burning the very ground beneath their feet, all out of sociopathy, greed, and ego. We’re competing against one another over ego scores, leaving people homeless and exposed to our ever hottrr climate as it burns all to see which owner can get the highest score in their exploitation competition before they have to retreat to their luxury bunkers, mischief managed.

The idea that our species will continue to gather to celebrate the supposed nobility of human competition, as our many self-created existential crises born of competing against one another close in around us, is gallows hilarious to me.

Homeostasis with our only world and cooperation with one another should have been humanity’s business, especially when the scientists started warning us of what we were doing about a century ago.

Is what it is, enjoy watching athletes collapse of heat stroke in the spirit of competition.

  • Remember, small impressionable children, oligarchy and rigged market capitalism is the only way, everything else is evil, and remember to compete against your fellow Americans to try to get more than them!

For our next lesson, critical thinking and reasoning! Just kidding, we don’t do that here. It doesn’t help to make you better laborers.

And now onto history, open your textbooks to page 33:

I’ve seen stolen wares and goods being sold on street many times before. They arent scalped as that implies charging more than the retail price, they’re sold for significantly less than the retailer, often at a fraction.

And just because they sold baby formula, doesn’t mean they don’t need to sell it to buy food and gas.

I will side with the have nots over the Alice Waltons living like modern Pharoahs on our backs every time. The owners have bred this desperation, and bribe our captured government to maintain it in perpetuity for their exclusive benefit. Look to the nordic countries, this isn’t how we have to live, scraping and subsisting, it’s how our owner class demands it be so they can run up their ego scores, competing with one another while seeing us as subhuman batteries for that sociopathic game.

  • Star Trek is a beautiful concept I myself once dreamed humanity could live up to in my youth.

That said, Earth is by far the most hospitable habitat humanity will ever know.

We can send a dozen perfect specimen humans to Mars/Titan to make an inspirational point, humanity needs that, but sending dozens+ humans to form multigenerational colonies on worlds where a single significant human fuck up means oops, everybody dead? That is a fever dream.

We’re royally fucking up this easy tutorial where all we need to do is stop being greedy fucks and using our technology to shit where we sleep.

Yeah, we’re going to do swell out there on extreme hard-core survival all skulls on mode. /s

Sorry kids, we’re going to either make peace with or destroy the habitability of this world for our species looooong before the idea of spreading elsewhere becomes practical.

  • It’s idiocy for humanity to work against itself.

Nation states drawing imaginary lines in the sand and trying to “win” more global resources for their respective elites who see life as some high stakes wealth class competition they’re going to win out of narcissism, avarice, and ego run a muck.

We, the billions, all pay the price for that game. There’s only about 3k billionaire sociopaths on Earth, and only about 30k hundred million plus-inaire sociopaths on Earth. I PROMISE you, we can continue to burn this world in their name, running up their ego scores until civilization collapses, and we almost certainly will, but those 30k-ish sociopaths will never ever be satiated.

The type of people that would exploit their way into accumulating such unethical levels of wealth don’t give shit one about this world or humanity’s future at all. It might as well end with them as far as they’re concerned, they were the point of all existence.

You can use steam link, or even better sunshine/moonlight, and have the best of both worlds if your local network is strong.

I can play fully modded Skyrim/Fallout4/Cyberpunk/Starfield on any screen in the house.

I don’t even see the point of a steam Deck, I use a regular 10inch tablet with a kickstand running moonlight and an Xbox controller in bed.

That’s kind of the enshittification of every sector as private industries have stopped caring about long term business models and only see as far as the next earnings report because private shareholders demand it under threat of legal action. A race to the bottom with no concern for any future, a fire sale.

Look at the airline industry at large. Flying, even for regular people, used to be seen as an event to look forward to. Now you get hit up for fees for literally everything that used to be part of the ticket as you’re crumpled on top of one another.

Boeing is a bad actor, because our modern “free market” rigged economy now incentivizes being a bad actor. Private shareholders don’t contribute to these companies, care about the quality of their products, or the satisfaction of customers, they just want moooaaaar right now. Always moaaaaar.

This is why the customers first, employees second, investors third model business tossed aside in the 70/80s was so vital. Nothing happens without customers employees, no profit, no product. Shareholders are just needy baby leeches that contribute no labor and demand moar profit every feeding, and they have ALL the power.

  • The desires of private shareholders, which have exclusively become “give me more NOW!” are wholly incompatible with the long term needs of our species, such as homeostasis with our sole shared COMMUNal habitat. The private shareholders that dictate how our economy runs through their captured governments literally only care as far out as their next quarterly earnings/ego score report, the planet can explode beyond that as far as they’re concerned, and my pet theory is that the wealth class is so egotistical, living like Pharoahs as others suffer and still needing mooaaaaaaar, that they kind of want the world to end after they’re gone, as they were the only point of it ever existing from their perspective.

Our species only pays lip service to the second, because many to most of us have been successfully propagandized to believe in the lie that we may one day be in the irresponsible sociopath hoarder con-man class, whether through lottery or not buying lattes, lol.

Basically the self-inflicted doom of our species that we’re sleep walking towards can be boiled down to this meme:
