Hey, y’all! Just another random, loudmouthed, opinionated, Southern-fried nerdy American living abroad.
This is my lemmy account because I got sick of how unstable kbin dot social was.

The trick I’ve learned is not to try to make a good-looking character, but an interesting-looking one. Usually I’ll jack up the settings on one thing in particular, like make the nose as big as possible, then build the face around it.
Yeah, the math for mine would definitely be off, just because I used to be a console gamer. A lot of the games in my Steam library I played on Xbox or PlayStation before, and picked up for PC when they were on sale after I switched over.
Well. That’s, um, certainly a…choice…they made for the art style.
Shockingly, when you actually finish, polish, market, and release games, people buy them! Has anyone told Microsoft this?
Thing is, it’s not because it’s not translating to new game pass subscriptions. It’s not bringing them in more money, and that’s what matters to them. They aren’t getting enough from game pass to pay for development, not after the giant expense of buying Activision.
It’s not “risqué humor” or a joke, it was a Korean company not knowing the nuance of a phrase in English. That’s why it was likely changed so quickly, because it’s wasn’t intended.
I’d have played it day one had it come out on PC. They’re the ones deciding to cripple sales.
Since I’ve got to wait at least a year - possibly two if they decide to do a timed Epic exclusivity - there’s no way I’m paying full price and will wait for a sale once it’s on Steam.
It’s a completely deserved win. It’s one of those games that I want to start playing again before I even finish a play through.
I love BG3, but I’m doing a durge run for the first time and have been really disappointed in the evil option. Like, it wants you to be a crazy, egotistical murder hobo. The dialogue options with your party are so over the top I never choose them, because my character is more of the DL serial killer than murder hobo. There’s zero subtlety if you go down the murder route.
You step on people you see as beneath you, and suck up to those you see as having power.
It really feels like Microsoft completely fumbled the bag this console generation. On paper, they should have had it - personally, I went out and got a PC as this generation was starting because I saw all the studios Microsoft had snatched up, and figured I’d need one to play the games that would inevitably be coming out (I can’t physically use an Xbox controller, so an Xbox isn’t an option for me), and…it’s been tumbleweeds almost. They don’t seem to know how to manage studios to make first party games.
Yeah ok sure 🙄
Dreadwolf is still MIA and if that is the same quality as Anthem, there might be an ME5, but it won’t be BioWare making it.
Honestly, my first reaction was “yeah right, it’s coming out.” I’m not going to believe it’s real until it’s actually for sale and available, and I’m not holding out any kind of hope for it being very good. Who knows, maybe I’ll be happily surprised.
I highly doubt they’ll ever do what Microsoft is doing and sell some of their exclusives on the competing consoles, but I hope they’ll start shortening the time between releasing them on PS and on PC. It makes sense financially for them to wait until the prices have started to drop on games to then release them at full price on pc, because they get more money and the new marketing blitz will get some people on PS who didn’t buy it at launch picking it up, but it’s frustrating because it’s such a huge amount of time. Horizon Forbidden West came out in February 2022 but only this month is coming to PC. That’s far too much of a wait.
Nintendo is also sitting on a huge pile of cash and hasn’t done any massive layoffs, so I don’t think they consider themselves as “losing” by any stretch of the imagination.
I think something a lot of folks don’t realize about Nintendo is that it is VERY shaped by being headquartered specifically in Kyoto. I was talking to a friend about it a couple months ago and she told me about an article she’d read of an interview with the president of Nintendo, and him talking about going to Kyoto business owner meetings and talking to people running business that were nearly 1000 years old, and how in Kyoto, Nintendo was still considered a “new” company because it’s only a little over 100 years old. Nintendo is not gonna chase after next quarter’s earnings, but after becoming an “old” Kyoto company.
That “rely on fear” thing was a joke that people looking to get mad are taking seriously.
You’d think they’d try to get one out before Dreadwolf, but there’s not even a whisper about it.
Yup! Now, can we please, please, please get a remake or at least a remaster of Dragon Age Origins?! Please?
Cost of living in Japan has seriously spot up lately, and the government has been pressuring companies to raise salaries. So I’m glad to see Capcom doing this.
I usually play as FemShep, but when I do play BroShep, he’s usually a Paragon, because dude just sounds like a Goodie Two Shoes Boy Scout. Plus Renegade BroShep gave off serious roid rage vibes to me in a way Renegade FemShep didn’t.
