I agree: training an AI on random crap from the internet and expecting it to be useful is a terrible idea. That should have been obvious before you made it.

Leave it to Elon to misunderstand grok and then use it on some dumb shit that calls him names like everyone else.

I d wouldn’t call it new, they’re used quite interchangeably. Also, its usually tied to political stances (conservative->lib & lib->conservative) - its like a insult on political views.

Oh come on after almost 10 years of the right using “pedophile” as their go-to insult for anyone they don’t like, the normal people do it once when it’s actually true, and you fly off the handle? That’s weird.

Like the time Elon Musk called the diver who saved the kids trapped in a flooded cave a pedo just because he managed to do so before he could build his"robot" idea?

The submarine thing is still one of the most ridiculous ideas I’ve ever heard. The cave is in some places so narrow divers had to remove their tanks. How would an imaginary submarine based on a space X rocket make it through?

Is there a photo of Elon and Ghislane Maxwell out there? Is there evidence he visited Epstein’s house? Did he get subpoenaed in the case against JP Morgan holding them responsible for child sex trafficking? I’m just asking questions.

And the answer to all of them is yes.

Didn’t Musk unironically have a burner twitter account where he would pretend to be a 3 year old child? Grok might be onto something here

I don’t understand why Elon chose to go mask off. He could have continued pretending to be a sane if eccentric person. I am glad he did but I don’t understand the motives.

Remember when the Simpsons had Lisa sing his praises?

Elon, and any other obscenely rich and powerful person for that matter, is just as flawed as any of us. They are not immune to dogma, disinformation and self-delusions. In fact, it may be the case that they are more vulnerable because power and wealth go to your head and you can use them to manifest your delusions, making them seem even more real.

      Also, he’s a jackass.

But rich and powerful people have the budget to afford social media managers to curate a beneficial public image for themselves. The smart ones know not to make public statements for themselves.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel like covid and him wanting to keep his factories open was when his mask came off completely. People on the right cheered him on, and those on the left finally realized that he isn’t a good person nor cares about people.

This then caused a cycle. The left was “mean” and the right celebrated him even more.

Grok is a verb, meaning to understand something intuitively or by empathy. It was first used in the novel Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein.

Grok has been adopted by the tech community for use when someone is very advanced at using a certain program or a command line utility, etc. When somebody gets to such an advanced level, they don’t just understand the program and it’s uses anymore, they grok it.

It’s actually kind of annoying and sad that Elon is stealing the word to use for his LLM.

AI program used by Twitter and named (rather insultingly) after a concept in Stranger in a Strange Land.

Stranger in a Strange Land is like the one sci-fi property Elon might actually understand, since the only real points it had to make is that women are “naturally subservient” even if they’re intellectually capable, women who get raped did something to deserve it, the only honest world government is run by white Americans, and classical liberalism is correct, having been depicted as the rich Chad.

But also polyamory is cool. As long as it’s mostly the guy sleeping with other women, obviously.
