Did the Lemmy boom die? What should I follow to get the most?
Follow Dr. Wesker
Please don’t, I can’t handle that kind of pressure.
I got here 5 months ago. It seems like everything I search for is posted 1 year ago. So for sure Lemmy had a short burst boom…but then people stopped coming back.
I see communities with mods that haven’t had any activity in months.
You know what would make this place REALLY take off? Porn. I know LemmyNSFW exists, but have you tried actually browsing it? Sure, at first glance it looks active, with multiple pages of content, but look at the date. Some of them had their last post 6+ months ago. Others go 1 post every month. I’m supposed to jack it from 1 picture, change community, 1-2 pictures/videos per MONTH???
C’mon ladies. Grow the fediverse. Show your titties! :D
I mean, I’m joking, but the logic does track…
View All.
Have you been following your heart? If not the most, the moist may at least be there.
Idk man, I just sort All by New.
Look at you raw dogging Lemmy.
That’s how I roll. News, porn blurs, and Dutch headlines are my kink.
I went further and disabled the blur filter. That way i can see a mini preview of the image to figure out what kind of nsfw it is. Otherwise i might click it and get a full dose of nsfl im my face.
Lots of paparazzi lately too.

Are you a bot? According to the laws of the TOS, you have to respond truthfully.
There should be no need to ask, but I guess some still need to…
The normal route would be to check profile information and history; then it becomes really easy to figure out, for some.
Answer the fucking question.
We must not fear using our critical thinking muscles, or else we will lose them.
-
Critical thinking takes no muscles, if it does you’re doing it wrong.
-
You didn’t answer the fucking question.

Found it’s niche may be a better way to put it. Technology is very active, programming is full of good content. A good few meme communities. And the daily comics are great too. Plenty more examples. But plenty of communities pale in comparison to reddit, and this is likely due to the normie effect.
Techologists lead normies by 2 to 3 years, so give it another year yet before people migrate in bigger numbers
Follow the community “trending_communities@feddit.nl” to find the most active ones, and select topics to follow
Lemmy might not be big enough to sustain niche communities, but there are a lot of commited people posting everyday on broader topics as well as some single mods keeping smaller groups active
Create and engage and you actually get to know the people here, which is something reddit or other social media might be to big for
I never see any NSFW shit in any trending or regular Lemmy use.
This is why Lemmy is dieing and will never be widely adobpted or gain regular traction, because no porn can be easily found here unlike Reddit or Twitter.
Dude, what are you talking about?
Nothing from that instance ever has anything other than reposts from reddit or bots. It never has anything posted uniquely by any users (except AI porn) and it never trends anything by anyone because no one federates with that instance.
That’s what I’m fucking saying.
The content is pretty boring most of the time. I wonder if it’s mostly bots now. In the beginning, there was a feeling of exploring something new and exciting. But it pretty much turned into Lemmy.world, which is not very exciting…
Maybe we need forums to come back. Somewhere where discussions amongst like minded people can come back and thrive.
Lots of different forums run by different people. Do you know why we got mostly memes now? Because it’s the safe content everyone agrees with. But it’s really dull.
Yes, it’s over
I’ve been thinking about tryna help out by posting memes, but all the ones I have are gonna be reposts, albeit from reddit, potentially years ago now. If ppl are interested I know for sure I at least got over 1k saved on my computer
Try a different instance
