Summary

Elon Musk lashed out online Monday as Tesla stock plunged over 15%, wiping out its post-election rally and shedding 50% of its value since December.

Investors worried about market declines, recession fears, and Tesla’s growing controversy after Musk’s far-right rhetoric and mass government layoffs.

Musk falsely claimed Democratic donors funded anti-Tesla protests and linked critics to Jeffrey Epstein. He amplified conspiracy theories blaming arson attacks on Democrats.

Despite his efforts, Tesla’s collapse cost Musk $23 billion in a single day.

Yet the Tesla brand has also become uniquely toxic since Musk swept into Washington, gave what was widely recognized as a Nazi salute at an inauguration event

Good to see the mainstream media finally (sort of) calling this what it was instead of tiptoeing around it

Cool. I cant wait for Tesla shareholders to file a class-action lawsuit for recklessly and negligently tanking the share price. Their portfolios have taken a significant hit, and it’s directly attributable to his poor public behavior, as well as partnering up with the loudest anti-EV voice on the planet. They have easily demonstrable damages, and it would be an easy case to win. I’ll bet there are numerous lawyers lining up their cases right now.

AND, its just a matter of time before the Tesla board fires him as CEO. He can wreck the government and Tesla, or he can run Tesla, but he cant do both.

I’m amazed the stock is still as high as it is. Anyone buying a Tesla right now is making an unpopular statement in most the world.

To calm himself from the meltdown, I suggest he ups his dose of ketamine and then pisses blood.

Alternatively, self-immolation is always an option, and ethically correct in his situation.

The amount of raw, undiluted satisfaction that would come from watching Musk’s fortune disappear would probably be enough to tide me over for the rest of the Trump presidency. I could be sent to a concentration camp slaving away somewhere manufacturing MAGA merch, and I’d still have a smile on my face knowing Elon went broke.

In Texas, if you have a contract with the state or a school district, you have to sign a contract where you agree not to “boycott israel” whatever that means. So I guess if one was to “boycott israel” while taking money from the state of Texas, that could be considered an illegal boycott.

That feels like the government placing limits on the rights of corporations to express political views, which SCOTUS has stated is illegal (if you define speech as campaign contributions, which it does).

you agree not to “boycott israel” whatever that means

As performative as that is, it’s just bizarre to imagine as a business having to ask “if I just happen to have not had any contracts with Israeli entities am I in violation of my contract with this random rural Texas county’s public works department?”

There’s also a clause where you agree not to perform an abortion while on duty.

It’s really weird and probably comes from Abbott saying that all money from the state supports Israel and that no money is used to fund an abortion.

I mean, it’s just really hard to understand why all these billionaires have decided to become so politically active. 1.) they have more than enough money for 10 more generations at least. 2.) if there is a serious tax hike or other threat to their wealth they can always quietly buy off some key politicians. 3.) if you stick your neck out like Musk (and some other billionaire cabinet members do) you run the chance that people will want to cut it off. If I were a billionaire I would make it my lives mission to ensure that the general public does not know my name.

It’s because they want it all. They have all the money. They want to be self righteous and proud of whatever thought that comes into their mind without having to hide it too.

They’re billionaires already because they can’t stop. Ever.

What well-adjusted person would want to become a billionaire?

3.) if you stick your neck out like Musk (and some other billionaire cabinet members do) you run the chance that people will want to cut it off.

That’s not a chance, it’s a certainty. People do want to cut it off.
